A calculator for every MLM plan

Most MLM calculators handle one plan and stop there. This one covers the structures real networks actually use, and adds the bonus layers that make up a large share of most members' earnings:

Why bonuses change the picture

Base plan commission is only part of the story. Direct referral bonuses reward recruiting, matching bonuses reward developing leaders, and rank bonuses reward milestones. In many plans these add up to a substantial share of total payout — which is exactly why the results here show a breakdown, so you can see which part of the plan is actually driving earnings.

Why the Plan Health meter matters

The fastest way to sink an MLM company is promising more in commissions than the margins can support. A plan paying out 70% of revenue leaves almost nothing for product cost, operations and profit — it eventually collapses or starts heavily flushing commissions, which frustrates members. Enter your product economics and the meter tells you instantly whether the plan is healthy, needs caution, is risky, or is unsustainable, along with your estimated company margin and profit per sale.

For the maths behind each plan, see our guides on how MLM commissions are calculated and binary vs unilevel vs matrix plans.

How to use this calculator

Pick a plan tab, then either start from one of the three presets — Starter, Growing or Established — or enter your own numbers. Every field updates the result instantly, so you can drag a slider and watch the effect immediately.

Understanding BV and point values

Most compensation plans calculate commissions in BV (Business Volume) or PV (Point Value) rather than raw currency, so payouts stay consistent across countries and exchange rates. Each product is assigned a point value, and commissions are a percentage of accumulated points.

In this calculator, the "value per BV point" field converts points into money. If your plan already works directly in currency, leave it at 1. If 1 BV equals 0.80 in your currency, enter 0.8.

Carry-forward, caps and flushing

Binary plans rarely pay on everything. Three rules decide what you actually receive:

These rules are a common source of member complaints when they aren't explained clearly, which is why a transparent commission record matters as much as the calculation itself.

Frequently asked questions

How is binary MLM commission calculated?

Binary commission is paid on the weaker (pay) leg. Take the volume of your smaller leg and multiply it by your binary payout percentage. The excess on the stronger leg carries forward, and any amount above a cycle cap is flushed. This calculator handles all three automatically.

What bonuses can this MLM calculator include?

Beyond base plan commission, you can add direct referral (sponsor) bonuses, matching bonuses on your personally sponsored members' earnings, and flat rank achievement bonuses. The results show a breakdown of how much each bonus type contributes to your total.

What does the Plan Health meter show?

It estimates whether your compensation plan is financially sustainable by comparing total commission payout against product cost and operating expenses. It returns a verdict of Healthy, Caution, Risky or Unsustainable, plus your estimated company margin, profit per sale, and tailored advice.

Is this MLM calculator free?

Yes. It is completely free, runs entirely in your browser with no sign-up, and your numbers are never stored. You can optionally email yourself a copy of the results.

Are these calculations guaranteed earnings?

No. All figures are estimates for planning and illustration only. Actual results depend on your specific plan rules, real sales volume, member activity and qualifications. This is not an income promise.

From estimate to real platform

A calculator is ideal for planning. Running an actual network means doing this for every member, every cycle, with carry-forward, flushing, rank qualifications and bonuses applied automatically — which is what a proper commission engine is for.
